How keen is a Belgian Malinois’s sense of smell?

The Belgian Malinois has a keen sense of smell and very high alertness. As a herding breed and working dog now often trained as military or police dog, this comes from its smell and strong physique. It is alert, bold, fierce, and somewhat aggressive.

It also has strong jumping ability, good adaptability, is loyal and obedient, making it suitable as a detection or police dog. But it easily over-excites, needing a strong owner and systematic training, so family keeping needs caution.
