How good is a rabbit’s vision?

A rabbit’s vision is rather special – it is both farsighted and nearsighted. Because its visible range is quite far and it sees more clearly the farther away something is, this helped rabbits in the wild watch for predators. However, when you get close to a rabbit, it becomes nearsighted, with vision of about -5 diopters.

Finally, rabbits are color blind and can see very few colors; besides black and white, they can only perceive blue and green.
