How good is a rabbit’s memory?
Expert Answer
A rabbit’s memory is not especially good because its brain capacity is limited and its intelligence is comparable to that of a 1-2 year old child. It can remember very little, and it cannot form long-term memories of most things. Generally, a rabbit remembers its owner for only 2-3 months and remembers its favorite foods somewhat longer, while frightening experiences may leave a psychological shadow that it also remembers for a while.
In addition, rabbits can remember the owner’s behavioral traits and some short commands through long-term companionship, so owners can also try some simple training with their rabbits.
