How does a hamster drink water?

Generally use a dedicated water bottle filled and mounted in the cage; the hamster licks it when thirsty. Without a bottle, use a small dish or cup with a little water, but change often to keep it clean and avoid contaminated water harming the gut.

Because the hamster gut is sensitive, give boiled cooled or purified water, never tap water directly.
