Dogs usually get rabies from a bite by another rabid animal or eating a rabid carcass. With enough antibodies they may show no symptoms, so vaccinate after 3 months of age. Rabid signs include irritability, frenzied biting, constant barking, fear of light and water, and drooling.
If bitten by a rabid dog, get the rabies vaccine promptly.
