How can you tell if ringworm (fungal infection) in cats is cured?

Ringworm is a skin disease caused by fungal infection, mainly bringing itching, hair loss, dandruff, crusts, and papules; the common pathogens are Microsporum canis and Trichophyton. The main criteria for judging it cured are as follows. First, the lesions stop spreading, the itching disappears, the skin basically returns to normal, and new hair begins to grow. Second, a skin scraping at the vet shows no fungus under the microscope, or a Wood’s lamp exam shows no fluorescence. Finally, after stopping medication, observe for a while to confirm no new lesions appear and old ones don’t worsen.
