Golden Retrievers can eat rice, but it is not recommended as a staple. First, rice is mainly carbohydrate with narrow nutrition; long-term feeding causes malnutrition and affects normal growth.

Second, puppies under six months shouldn’t eat rice – its soft texture hinders tooth development, and at 4-5 months (teething) rice can cause a double row of teeth. For balanced nutrition and healthy growth, feed dog food; if you insist on rice, add some meat and vegetables.
