Can a rabbit’s cold get better on its own?

A rabbit’s cold generally cannot heal on its own; without proper treatment it will get worse. That said, a few rabbits with strong immunity might recover from mild symptoms, but the chance is small, so owners should not count on it.

Most rabbits tolerate illness poorly, and an untreated cold can develop into pneumonia. So at the first sign of a cold, take the rabbit to a veterinary hospital or treat it under a vet’s guidance.
