The so-called 'Japanese pocket stone monkey' sold in the pet trade is in fact a young Japanese macaque (Macaca fuscata) infant. Wild-caught or illegally traded individuals adapt poorly, carry zoonotic disease risks, and keeping primates as pets is strongly discouraged on welfare and legal grounds.

Omnivorous and bath-loving, it needs fresh air, draft-free indoor housing, and a varied diet. Lifespan 4–5 years.
Aye-aye

The Aye-aye is a strange, cat-sized lemur from Madagascar with extraordinarily long fingers and toes (the real source of its 'finger monkey' name). Nocturnal, solitary and curious, it is critically endangered and kept only in zoos and reserves — not a typical pet. It can live over 20 years.
Anglo Mink

The Anglo Mink is the domesticated pet ferret (Anglo / Marshall lines) kept as a companion animal. Intelligent, gentle, and easy to litter-train, it is heat-sensitive and mischievous when unwatched, needs a large wire-free cage and 4+ hours out daily, and eats a meat-based diet (30–35% protein, 15–20% fat). Lifespan 8–12 years.
