What You Need to Prepare

Some non-woven fabric (or paper towels)

A bottle of alcohol (75%)

A container (such as a lockable storage box)

Cut the non-woven fabric to fit the container, lay it evenly inside, then pour in alcohol. After 5 minutes the alcohol will be fully absorbed by the fabric. Take only what you need, and remember to close the lid after each use.

Worried your dog will lick its paws? Don’t worry — after wiping, watch it for 2 minutes and the alcohol on its paws will have completely evaporated.

Worried the alcohol won’t be enough? Don’t worry, you can pour as much as you need, whenever you need it.

What Other Methods Can Keep Your Dog’s Paws Cleaner?

First, you should know that the thing that makes dog paws more likely to carry bacteria is called paw fur.

So should you trim paw fur regularly? Of course, but not completely. Although long paw fur easily picks up outside dirt, shaving it all off is not good for your dog’s feet. Paw fur cushions friction between the toes and prevents debris from harming the spaces between them.

So when trimming paw fur, just make sure it does not extend beyond the paw pad.
