A small amount of rice usually has little effect on a Teddy; rice is a carbohydrate that provides the dog with some energy and necessary nutrients. But a Teddy should not eat too much rice, because they have relatively little amylase in their intestines, and eating a lot may cause vomiting, diarrhea, appetite loss, constipation, and other digestive discomforts.
Second, rice is high in carbohydrates, and if a Teddy takes in too much, it may lead to obesity, poor digestion, diabetes, and other health problems.
