What happens if I feed fish to my cat?

Cats can eat fish. Moderate amounts of fish provide vitamin A, quality protein, taurine and various minerals that benefit vision and immunity. But some cats are allergic to fish or shrimp, so offer a small amount first if it has never eaten fish.

Do not feed raw fish often, since it carries bacteria and parasites that harm the gut. Finally, fish bones can cut the esophagus, so remove the bones or blend the fish with bones before feeding.
