A dog sneezes much like a person, mainly shaking its head with a puffing sound and spraying a little nasal fluid and saliva from nose and mouth. Causes vary; a foreign body or respiratory infection may be involved. If dust, fur or irritants are in the nose, ventilate and rinse with a nasal wash or saline.

If the dog also has runny nose, cough, reduced appetite or fever, it is usually a bacterial or viral cold needing a vet.
