Internal deworming for budgerigars can be done every six months, but only after the bird is one year old. A younger bird with severe parasites may be dosed, but strictly control the amount and never overdose.

Also, do not deworm during breeding, to avoid breaking the mother’s instinct and scaring her into abandoning nest and chicks; deworm before breeding season.
