Do Turtles Fear Heat?

Turtles do fear heat; their ideal temperature is 20–30°C, and overheating causes heatstroke and appetite loss. In summer, provide shade—plant aquatic plants in outdoor ponds so turtles can cool underneath.

Without plants, build a shade cover above the pond to avoid direct sun. Hot weather also spoils water faster, so change it frequently to protect turtle health.
