Can a cat survive FIP on its own?

A cat generally cannot pull through FIP on its own. Feline infectious peritonitis, or FIP, has a fatality rate above 90% and an extremely low cure rate. Without timely medication, the cat usually dies within a period of time, and clinically there are no recorded cases of spontaneous recovery.

FIP is divided by symptoms into dry and wet forms. A cat with dry FIP can usually hold on for 3 to 16 weeks; with wet FIP, generally only 3 to 9 weeks.

There are now two specific drugs for FIP, GS-376 and GS-441524, with 441 being the more effective. If the specific drug is used in time, the cure rate can be raised effectively.
