Do not force-feed a kitten that won’t eat, to avoid stressing it and to prevent choking from feeding too fast. The owner can mix favorite foods like fish, chicken breast, and canned food into the kibble and microwave it briefly to enhance the smell, which may stimulate appetite.

For an unweaned kitten, use a syringe without the needle to feed a little at a time. If the kitten still refuses or shows signs of dehydration, take it to the vet to find the cause and treat it; IV fluids may be needed.
