Will a Tiger Attack a Cat?

A tiger will attack a cat. Although tigers and cats are both felines, they are not the same kind, and to a tiger a cat is potential prey, so if it encounters one there is a good chance it will attack.

However, cats in the wild are generally quite agile, and if there are trees or bushes nearby to climb, a tiger usually cannot harm them. In addition, some tigers may feel a cat is too small to bother catching and prefer to hunt larger animals such as sheep, cattle, and deer.
