Why won’t my dog eat and why is it listless?

Not eating and low spirits can come from physical discomfort, environment change, pickiness, mood issues, or pain. The owner should observe closely, find the cause, and act; if no cause is found, take the dog to the vet for a check and targeted treatment.

For mild cases, offer the dog’s favorite treats or canned food to boost appetite and spend more time playing with it. If it still will not eat, the disease is serious and a vet visit is advised.
