Red ears in a hamster can have many causes, commonly allergies, parasite infection, or hot weather. If redness appeared soon after you changed the bedding, suspect bedding irritation and switch to another type.
Parasite infection can also redden the ears and needs a vet’s diagnosis and treatment. In addition, hot weather can redden a hamster’s ears; provide physical cooling promptly to prevent heatstroke.
