Why don’t cats die at home?

A cat not dying at home is said to be instinct. It is believed that when animals lived in groups, the seriously sick would hide to avoid attacks from predators. Another saying is that a sick cat goes to the wild to find herbs that heal it, and returns if it recovers.

If it does not get better, it finds a secluded place and waits quietly for death, so its body does not spread virus or bacteria to its kind. Of course, a house cat may also do this to avoid saddening its owner.
