Why does an Alaskan Malamute have soft stools?

Soft stools in Alaskan Malamutes are usually caused by indigestion, internal parasites, or chronic enteritis. Eating too fast, too much, or greasy irritating food leads to indigestion and soft stools.

If not dewormed for a long time, consider roundworms or tapeworms, which steal nutrients causing weight loss and damage the gut, leading to soft stools, diarrhea, or even bloody stool.

Some dogs have chronic gastritis or pancreatitis causing frequent soft stools. Mild cases can get pet probiotics; severe cases need a fecal test and proper medication.
