1 Common Reasons Parrots Fluff Up
1. Cold weather fluffing

2. Fatigue fluffing
A very tired parrot may fluff briefly, e.g. after long flight outside the cage; it recovers after rest.
Also, a female parrot laying many eggs without enough nutrition faces heavy incubation stress and may fluff; ease it with artificial incubation if she lays a lot.
3. Fright fluffing
A sudden scare fluffs a parrot — stepped on or bumped, it startles like a cat. The cause is the same as a cat’s.
