2. Asking the owner to discipline them. Some puppies are naughty and the mother is at a loss. Not knowing how to educate them, she may bring them to the owner for help.

3. The puppies are not hers. Touching newborn puppies is a taboo, as it can make the mother reject them. If you accidentally touch them, your scent remains; smelling it, the mother may not recognize them as hers and bring them to you.
