Why are German Shepherds banned in some areas?

The reason German Shepherds are banned is that they are a strong guarding breed with relatively high aggression and strong defensiveness, so they are prone to injuring people. In addition, the German Shepherd is fairly large, with a shoulder height around 55 cm; although that does not meet the ‘large dog’ standard, their solid muscles and explosive power, together with a fierce appearance, give them more deterrence than some large breeds.

Nevertheless, the German Shepherd remains an excellent breed. Because of their good obedience and high intelligence, they are often trained as working dogs such as police dogs, detection dogs, and military dogs.
