Where do they cut for cat spaying/neutering?

For a male cat, neutering removes the testicles and cuts part of the vas deferens; for a female, spaying removes the ovaries, oviducts, and part of the uterus.

Because the male’s testicles are external, the wound is small, the surgery quick, and recovery fast. Females need an abdominal operation, so risk is higher and recovery longer. After surgery keep the E-collar on and avoid baths until the incision fully heals.
