Where do lost cats hide during the day?

A lost cat generally hides during the day in concealed places like near trash cans, stairwells, underground parking, under cars, bushes, and trees. The owner can search nearby green areas; if not found, check under cars near the building.

If the cat has been missing a long time, search areas with many stray cats and post lost-cat notices on nearby bulletin boards to get more people watching for it. Cats are very curious and easily distracted, so cat owners should secure windows and use a cat bag when going out, to prevent loss.
