Hamsters are born with teeth, but they are very short. As time passes the front teeth keep growing and are basically fully formed around 3 weeks of age, and they may bite the mother while nursing, causing her to refuse to feed them. Around 3 weeks they can also eat on their own, so the owner can wean them at this time.

In addition, after a month the owner should separate the hamsters into different cages, otherwise the mother may become resentful and attack the babies.
