Generally stitches can be removed 7 days after a C-section, and the wound heals 3 days after removal. However, recovery time depends on the dog’s condition, nutrition and care, and whether stitches can be removed should be decided after a vet checks healing.
To speed healing, before removal keep the dog in an Elizabethan collar to prevent licking, and disinfect the wound daily, keeping it dry and clean.
