1. Egg-yolk therapy

Crush a boiled egg yolk, simmer in a pan over low heat to extract the oil; add an appropriate amount of the prepared egg-yolk oil to food each time, which tonifies the spleen, benefits the stomach, and stops diarrhea.

2. Apple food

Apples contain tannic acid, which stops diarrhea. Wash one apple, steam it, slice or peel and mash it; 30-60 g each time, 3 times daily. Apple soup is also an auxiliary drink for diarrhea, suitable for babies under one year.

These two foods not only supplement the dog’s nutrition but also relieve diarrhea.

II. Causes of Dog Diarrhea

1. Diarrhea caused by viruses, bacteria, or other microbes, such as diarrhea viruses/bacteria, or parasite-caused diarrhea, collectively called infectious diarrhea. Clinically common infectious diarrhea includes coronavirus infection, parvovirus infection, Salmonella infection, E. coli infection, and flagellate, Giardia, and fetal trichomonad infections.

2. Endogenous diarrhea, mainly from internal-medicine diseases such as food allergy, pancreatitis, food intolerance, large-intestine water-absorption disorder, and sluggish distal intestine.

3. Diseases such as probiotics inactivated in the gut, gut flora imbalance, improper antibiotic use, and hormonal imbalance can all disrupt the gut and cause diarrhea.

III. Treatment for Dog Diarrhea

The puppy should fast for 12 hours and then have its mental state observed. If diarrhea is from the puppy’s greed, try adjusting the diet; if no improvement, feed some probiotics. For diarrhea from a cold, keep the dog warm-avoid direct air conditioning at night; if diarrhea persists, there may be parasites in the gut and regular deworming is needed, and the dewormer should only be given when the puppy’s mental state is good.
