What should you watch for when docking a Doberman’s tail?

Doberman tail docking is best done within the first week after birth, when it causes the least pain. At birth the tail’s nerves are not yet developed, so docking within a week gives little pain, less bleeding, and easy wound healing, making it the best period.

After docking, the owner should properly disinfect the wound to avoid infection.
