If a hamster is bitten by a cage mate and the wound is minor, you only need to disinfect it. First, keep the hamster isolated on its own, then clip the fur around the wound to reduce the chance of infection and abscess.
Next, clean the wound with saline solution or a dedicated pet wound spray, and finish by applying a topical wound ointment.
