A dog’s stye is a pus-forming inflammation from Staphylococcus aureus infection. In the early stage apply warm compresses and antibiotic eye drops or ointment. Before the abscess forms, do not cut or squeeze it, to avoid spread into orbital cellulitis or sepsis. When the abscess matures, drain it and continue antibiotics.

Keep an Elizabethan collar on during treatment.
