Yellow nasal discharge in a cat means a serious upper respiratory infection, caused by many things including a cold, nasal infection or cat flu (feline rhinotracheitis). If the yellow discharge is from a cold, you can give some oral medication containing amoxicillin-clavulanate or Maxingshigan powder, twice a day.

If the cat’s symptoms do not ease, it is likely a secondary mycoplasma infection, and a vet visit for further checks is advised.
