The French Bulldog’s constitution is not very strong. First, as a short-nosed breed it is prone to respiratory infections and cannot do overly intense exercise, or it easily shows breathing difficulty. Next, its lumbar spine is fragile and climbing stairs often injures it, so in a high-rise without an elevator the owner may have to carry the dog up stairs.
Finally, its digestive system is also weak; eating hard-to-digest food causes frequent smelly farts, and eating something unclean easily leads to vomiting and diarrhea.
