Bichon coats are generally white with almond or cream shading on ears and body. The curly coat is soft and fluffy when brushed. Importantly, it has two layers: a longer curly top and a very fine undercoat.
Normal bichons hardly shed; heavy shedding usually means poor nutrition, wrong bathing, impure breed, or skin disease.
