What if a bichon is not groomed?

Expert Answer

Not grooming only makes a bichon look messy, not affecting health, but you must bathe and brush regularly to avoid mats and skin disease. Trim long hair regularly so it does not hinder activity.

If appearance does not matter, just cut it short, especially cleaning hair on the paws and around the anus.
