A calcium-deficient Golden Retriever puppy easily gets O- and X-legs, and double rows of teeth during teething. Severe deficiency causes poor bone development or even rickets. It also brings fractures, weak limbs, sudden hind-leg paralysis, lethargy and poor appetite, and postpartum tremors when lactating.

Therefore feed nutritionally complete food and supplement calcium for puppies and lactating mothers; if deformity, lameness or paralysis appears, see a vet.
