What happens if a Golden Retriever isn’t bathed?

If a Golden Retriever is not bathed, large amounts of oil and dust accumulate on its skin and coat, easily breeding bacteria, which leads to a stronger body odor, itchy skin, heavy shedding, and even skin infections. Normally, in summer you should bathe the Golden about once every 10 days; in spring and autumn, when the temperature difference between day and night is large, once every two weeks to a month is fine, and it is best to bathe around midday when it is warmer.

In winter, when temperatures are lower and the dog goes outside less often, you can bathe it once every 1–2 months.
