A dog with ticks shows itch, redness, bumps, and hair loss at the bite, and severe cases get secondary bacterial infection with abscesses and dermatitis. Ticks also suck blood, and if many go unnoticed they can cause anemia with weakness, pallor, and weight loss.

Ticks spread many zoonotic diseases like Lyme disease, ehrlichiosis, and babesiosis, causing fever, joint pain, swollen lymph nodes, even neurological signs. Remove them safely at once and deworm preventively.
