If the rice grain expired but is not spoiled, steaming it into rice and feeding a small amount does little harm. However, rice is high in starch, and too much can cause indigestion, possibly bloating, vomiting and abdominal pain.
If the rice has been left long and has gone moldy, it produces many harmful substances, and the dog may easily suffer diarrhea, vomiting and other gastrointestinal discomfort. It is advisable to seek veterinary treatment promptly to avoid dehydration and death.
