What happens if a dog drinks cold water?

Drinking cold water can easily irritate a dog’s stomach and intestines, leading to abdominal pain, vomiting, and loose stools. If the symptoms are severe, it is best to take the dog to a vet promptly.

When possible, try to give your dog warm water to avoid unnecessary trouble. If the ambient temperature is not very low, room-temperature water is acceptable; if it is very cold, pour a little warm water at intervals, and avoid pouring too much at once so it does not cool down and irritate the stomach.
