What happens if a Caucasian Shepherd lacks calcium?

A Caucasian Shepherd lacking calcium may face several problems. Calcium is key to bone; deficiency can cause poor bone development, osteoporosis, bowlegs, knock-knees, or rickets. Puppies may show poor tooth development and double rows of teeth that trap dirt and affect bite. Adults may get hind-leg weakness and in severe cases low-blood-calcium signs like convulsions, poor appetite, and stiff limbs.
