What Happens After a Teddy’s Toe Amputation?

Teddy declawing is very painful; the surgery uses anesthesia with some risk, and after it the wound heals slowly with continued severe pain. Normally it is not recommended except for show dogs or when overgrown nails impair movement.

If already done, disinfect the wound daily to prevent infection. Also soothe the dog’s emotions to avoid fright and irritability or anxiety.
