What environment does a hamster need?

Hamsters like dim, cool places at 20 to 28°C. As nocturnal animals used to dim light, bright places cause discomfort and harm their vision. They also fear heat; without summer cooling they may die of heatstroke.

Finally, hamsters are solitary and cannot live in very noisy places; daytime noise disrupts their normal routine.
