What does a pet hedgehog eat?

Wild hedgehogs mainly prey on various invertebrates and small vertebrates plus weeds, fruit, and melons. Pet hedgehogs can be fed specialized hedgehog feed, plus moderate meat and fruits/vegetables.

If possible, catch caterpillars, beetles, snails, and earthworms as snacks. Hedgehogs also like nuts like peanuts, almonds, and walnut meat, but these are only snacks and must not be overfed.
