Vitamin B deficiency

There are many B vitamins; though a kitten needs little, B is essential nutrition.

Poor digestion

Some kittens digest poorly; gut gas rises and exits through the mouth as bad breath.

So feed measured amounts, limited diet—like people, 70–80% full per meal, not stuffed.

Cats with weak guts should eat only easily digested kibble/meat within tolerance; if digestion is poor, give probiotics.

Plaque residue

After eating, food residue on teeth causes bad breath; long uncleaned, it forms tartar.

Also, strong-smelling kibble lingers in the mouth and becomes odor.

For this, give breath-freshening cat treats, dental chews, or push water; a cat toothbrush can remove odor. Canned food easily causes bad breath—clean the mouth regularly.

Oral infection
