What are the signs of depression in cats?

Signs of feline depression include loss of interest in play and no sense of pleasure; reduced energy, easy fatigue, and listlessness; difficulty concentrating and a felt drop in thinking ability; sleep disorders like frequent insomnia and early waking; and clearly reduced appetite with gradual weight loss.

In severe cases, a depressed cat may even self-harm or attempt suicide.

If these symptoms appear, take the cat to a vet promptly for diagnosis and treatment.
