What are the signs of a Scottish Shepherd (Collie) in heat?

A Scottish Shepherd in heat often becomes restless, barks at night, eats less, and may try to run away. The female has a small amount of pink or red discharge and a swollen vulva, while the male urinates everywhere and likes to mount other dogs or hug the owner’s leg.

To compete for mates, short-tempered males may fight other males. During heat, keep the dog on a tight leash to prevent loss or unwanted mating. If you do not plan to breed, spay the dog at a vet after the heat ends.
