Dog balanitis shows as swollen, painful prepuce with constant licking that keeps the area moist; severe cases bring inflammatory swelling, enlarged glans, difficult urination, ulcers, and pus-like discharge.

Without treatment it can cause whole-body signs like lethargy, fever, and poor appetite. Clean with saline and iodine, apply an anti-inflammatory spray and ointment, and use an Elizabethan collar to keep the area dry.
